Complete

For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; -Colossians 2:9-10

We chose this identity statement especially for this week of Valentine’s Day. As we come to the day that is all about love and romance, it is easy for a flurry of emotions to stir. These emotions are not always conversation hearts and chocolates! For some, loneliness is only enhanced by the day, for others love maybe hasn’t worked out as expected.

In both cases, the truth we hear from Colossians 2 is especially written for our encouragement. We can easily feel like we just need to meet the perfect someone to complete us. However this scripture tells us differently. He, Jesus, completes us! Marriage is a beautiful thing, spouses certainly complement each other as couples grow together in Christ. We must always remember though, that in him we have fullness.
